Ballroom Dance Center Iliana was founded April 7th, 2010 and has been teaching people how to dance in the entire Western New York, The South Towns: West Seneca, Orchard Park, Hamburg, East Aurora, Buffalo ect.
Our goal is to teach people how to move in the most natural way in any formal and informal event.
Steps, patterns and technique are just tools to bring the best way for people to enjoy dancing together.

HEALTH BENEFITS OF DANCING! 1. Stay Young. Dancing is beneficial of keeping people young. It slows down the aging process tremendously. It benefits our hearts, cardiovascular system and increases our lung capacity. It helps prevention of osteoporosis for man and women and also helps keeping joints lubricated in order to prevent arthritis. 2. Burning Calories. Dance exercises help the body to increase circulation. It helps us burn calories in a very fun and entertaining way, it improves our stamina. It is estimated that dancing burns 5 to 10 calories per minute depending on the speed and intensity of a dance. For example Swing, Salsa and Mambo can burn around 400 calories in 45min compare to Slow Waltz. On the other hand, Slow Waltz is an excellent dance for relaxation and stress relieve after a busy day. 3. Mind and Body Connection. Dancing improves our memory by remembering patterns and moves. It is a mental exercise for our brains. The biggest benefit is that increasing mental exercise keeps our mind young, sharp and open. 4. Balance. Balancing yourself in one position may be easy, but balancing two people through different dance positions is much more challenging. Dancing also helps to co-ordinate our reflexes and to react to the reflexes of our partners. It is a great way to keep our Central Nervous System and Peripheral Nervous System by working on mind and body connection. 5. Socialization. Dancing is a recreational and entertaining activity. It creates social opportunities to meet new people and find new friends. 6. Diverse. Dancing has no cultural barriers. Cultural interaction improves our health by expanding our mind, knowing other people and cultures. 7. Appearance. Dancing is not only fun and romantic, but it promotes good appearance. Everybody wants to look at his/her best when they dance. 8. Own Happiness. Dancing elevates our mood by raising our endorphin levels. That is what helps us heal stress and depression. Dancing also gives us self-confidence and makes us self-discipline. It improves the harmony between our body and mind, giving us a sense of well-being. |
